Another 2.5 days we stayed in a simple, minimalist hotel Lloyd’s Inn. It is placed among residential areas, but pretty close to Singapore’s most famous (and upscale) area, Orchard, around 500-meter walk from the hotel.
Disclaimer: This is not a paid post, I reviewed the hotel because I enjoyed my stay and hope this post will give reference for anyone who plan their trip to Singapore.
Again, this is a boutique hotel so is one of a kind 🙂 I had been looking forward to stay here because apparently Lloyd’s Inn is pretty popular in Instagram and many Southeast Asian bloggers have stayed and reviewed it.
So Lloyd’s Inn has eight types of room, and we booked the cheapest one (because, you know, budgetwise…), it is The Standard room. But when we checked in, they gave us a compliment by upgrading our room to The Reading room! And I LOVED it!
Also, the concept of their bathroom is half outdoor, so you can take a bath by the plants, taking your time as much as you want, getting inspiration and contemplating life…
Anyway, as I said before, because it is placed among residential apartments, so nothing much to see/do in the neighborhood. There isn’t any convenient store around (in case you’re hungry in the middle of the night), and is four-minute walk to the nearest bus stop and is pretty far from the nearest MRT station, which is Somerset.
FYI, Lloyd’s Inn has an outdoor pantry which provides free flow coffee, but it doesn’t have any restaurant. So if you pay for a room with breakfast included, you will get a breakfast voucher and you can choose between Killiney Kopitiam or Freshly Baked. Both of them are located in Killiney Road, not far from the hotel, actually. But it will be a little bit of a hassle when it rains to go down there, like it did when we came. Both are placed in a classic shophouse neighborhood and provide Singaporean street food-style dining experience. I actually liked the idea how they promote local restaurants by having this partnership.
During our stay, it was almost raining every day and every night, so nothing much to do around. We previously planned to swim but never got the chance. Instead, we did this mini photoshoot before checking out because, who can resist the charm of minimalism?
